Hunted is LIVE!

Hunted is LIVE!

My very first bookbaby is now LIVE on Amazon! AAAAAH

I’ve never been more excited or nervous or terrified in my life! I’ve worked so hard on this thing for so long, that the thought of others reading it is enough to make me hyperventilate. What if they don’t like it? What if no one even gives it a chance? What if it disappears into oblivion, never to resurface?

Okay, I’m completely freaking myself out! Before I spiral into a full blown panic attack, let me get you the cover and the link!

Click on the cover for the link.

It feels so strange to actually be a published author. I can’t get over the fact that others can read this now. It’s like you’re cracking open my skull and examining all the crazy inside.

The characters in this book were so incredibly alive to me. They never really listened to what I wanted or what I had to say, instead they did their own thing and dragged me along with them. They’ve been a pleasure to write, and I can’t wait to finish the next two books and give them the ending they deserve.

I’m just crossing my fingers and toes and eyes and everything that others will end up loving the characters as much as I do.

    I loved Hunted!
I typically read at least a dozen books a month but I might be lucky enough to stumble across a book and author I like enough to google them and land on their website, once a month. I’m thrilled to hear that you’re done with drafts for the whole series and even more excited to hear about future works.

    • Erica Woods says:

Hi Tatiana! Thank you so much for coming here and leaving a comment! I’ll admit, this website isn’t the best yet, but I’m not very technical and haven’t been able to figure this whole thing out yet. So… stay tuned!
I’m overjoyed that you loved Hunted! It’s my first book, as you know, so I’ve been in a state of near panic ever since I hit “publish”. Hearing from readers who enjoyed the book just makes it all worth it! If it weren’t for you guys, I think I’d probably just write for myself! I hope you’ll enjoy the next two in the series as well 🙂

This book was absolutely amazing. You are a truley talented author. I have only read RH in the last year. Hell I never new it existed. I also have only been reading PNR for ruffly 2 years. Up until then it was stricktly Stephen King, and Dean Koontz. I stumbled upon it by accedently accepting an email for free vampire recs. Who knew? Obviously not me. At any rate, sorry half a centry being ADHD I get off topic alot.
I will very much enjoy following you along your path that no doubt will be very successfull!!!
You now have inherited a STALKER FAN! I’m sure I will not be alone in this.

    • Erica Woods says:

I normally joke that people who stalk me risk being stalked back but… It’s actually not a joke. So I’ll accept your stalkery behavior and raise you mine. Don’t tell anyone, but I have a basement. Strictly for my betas (and now my (very limited) fans).

Aaaand back on topic. THANK YOU! Thank you for coming here and leaving a comment and letting me know you liked my book! Like most authors, I’m an insecure mess, so it’s amazing to hear things like this! And it’s pretty hilarious to me that you went from Stephen King to RH, LOL! But I’m glad you did. I’ve recently dipped my toe outside the romance pool (I’ve been reading a couple of thrillers), and although I will never write anything not romance, I’ve been enjoying the variety. It’s nice sampling different writing. And I’m learning, too!

Anyway… Thank you so much for making the effort to find me and leaving a comment! I want to leave you with a heart emoji but I don’t know how to do it from this blog reply thing, so. *HEART*

I absolutely loved you book “Hunted” ! The characters just really stuck out to me as unique and not like a bunch of other common characters I have read in other stories. I am super excited for the next TWO books in the series!!!! I realized that you have literally just published the first book, but I was wondering when the next book will be released? I figured since you already have a roughy draft then it shouldn’t be a really long time? Like definitely no longer than 6 months to a year? I have seen authors publish the next book in a series with in 2 months so my hopes are up, but I understand if that won’t happen!

    Love ya!

    • Erica Woods says:

I’m thrilled you loved my book! And so excited you took the time to reach out and tell me! Glad you found the characters unique, they were extremely alive to me, so I spent a lot of time trying to make sure I did them justice in my book.

Haha, don’t worry people are asking me this all the time! I don’t want to give any exact dates because I’m still so new that I really don’t know when things will be ready. Hunted took me about 5-6 months to take from first draft to final draft. I’m guessing book 2 will be about the same, though I did add a plotline to book 1 during my edits, which means I have to do a few rewrites for book 2, as well as polishing it as thoroughly as I did book 1. Sorry I can’t promise you a date, but I can promise you I’ll get it done as fast as I possibly can without sacrificing the “quality”, if that makes sense.

      xxx

I read your book in less than a day. COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I’m seriously in love with your characters. I especially loved your realistic character building in Hope. I appreciate the time she takes to recover from her abusive past but remains strong and learn to love. PLEASE COME OUT WITB THE NEXT ONE SOOOOOOOON.

    • Erica Woods says:

I’m impressed that you read it so quickly! And excited that you loved it so much! And thank you, it was important to me to portray Hope’s journey in a way that stayed true to her character and didn’t minimize the effects of her trauma. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! <3 I'll put the next one out the second it's ready!

  5. Kim Hall says:

OMG!! Book 2 isn’t out yet?? I didn’t want to stop! Loved the book. I normally read several a week. Don’t tell them, but Kindle Unlimited is losing money on my subscription. Anywho… Loved, loved, loved Hunted and can’t wait for it to continue!

    • Erica Woods says:

Haha, sorry, I promise it will be published the minute it’s done! And thank you. I’m so glad you loved my book, and so happy you took the time to leave a comment!

  6. Zoe says:

Do you have an estimated release date for book 2? I’m in love with Hunted! Honestly it’s my favorite book now. I’m getting ready to reread it

    • Erica Woods says:

That makes me ECSTATIC to hear, thank you for leaving a comment! And I do have an estimate, but it’s just that, an estimate, and it may be wrong. I’m guessing around 6 months, but again, it may be longer seeing as I’m a little bit of a perfectionist and did spend two weeks on a single scene in Hunted during my editing phase, lol

  7. Natasha Wilson says:

Hunted was one of the best books ive read in a long time and i read hundreds of books a month. The hardest part will be waiting for the next book to see what happens

  8. Sylvia Flack says:

Very good book, sorry scratch that, a great book. Looking forward to the next one.

  9. Carolyn Torres Torres says:

Please please please tell us when the next one is coming! I need to put it in my calendar!

    • Erica Woods says:

I’m hoping (optimistically) to have book 2 ready within 6 months. I’ve added it to my goodreads profile, so if you add it to your “to be read” thing, you’ll be notified when it’s out. Same if you follow my author profile on amazon (or join my newsletter or reader group). Haha, I just realized how many options there are

  10. Amber says:

Hunted was excellent! I’ve never responded to an author before, but seriously, you need to hear how loved your world has become. The character development was beautiful. Like a previous comment, I read it in a single sitting. I could not put it down! Several times I had tears rolling down my cheeks. I cannot wait to learn more about Lucien. His cutting remarks simultaneously make you want to leap to Hope’s defense and want to give him a big hug because only someone with a deep brokenness can have that level of iciness. I could continue on with the whole “family” over a cup of coffee. It has been a while since a book grabbed my attention enough to think on it the next day. I’m officially following you on Amazon and I’m looking forward to your future works. Be encouraged and know you have a solid fan base already building!

    • Erica Woods says:

Wow Amber, I’m so glad you decided to comment! I’m thrilled you enjoyed my book that much, and I’m so happy it managed to inspire emotions in you! It was a very emotional book to write, and though it got a little easier, there are some really hard scenes in book 2 as well that had my chest aching when I wrote them. I hope the second book will live up to the first one. As for Lucien… His story is coming. He is a complex character that has been really interesting to write and to get to know. Again, thank you so much for reaching out! I must say, reading your comment was a great way to start my day!

  11. Alex says:

Normally I try not to read the books of a series before the next one is out or at least the release date is soon. I did it again with HUNTED. But I really can’t reget it!! The book is amazing. I could not put it down, read through the night and only got two hours of sleep. Totally worth it! Now I am crossing my fingers because I cannot wait for book two. The story was great and I loved the time taken to get to know all of the charactes. I am happy to hear that the draft for the second book is ready. Sometimes in the past with other new authors I was really disapponted when the second or third book a series took years to follow the first if it even got out. So thank you very much for this site with all the updates on your books. I will definetly read more of your books as soon as they get out! I’ll also leave an amazon review and hope that you get the big fan base you deserve.

    • Erica Woods says:

I’m thrilled you enjoyed the book so much (though I’m sorry to have ruined your sleep!) Yeah, I wrote the first draft of all three books in one go. Mostly because I wasn’t sure where the characters would take me, and I wanted to be able to go back and fix any potential plot holes or changes I’d need to make. And I’m so glad I did, because some of the characters threw me some major curveballs that had me spinning! It’s one of the reasons my self edits take so long (and because my first drafts are messy and when I edit I turn into a perfectionist). I’m hoping to have Assembly released within 6 months, but only if it’s 100% ready!

  12. Alex says:

Take as much time as you need. It obviously pays off.

  13. Becci Woolams says:

Your book is amazing had me hooked straight away loved the characters and the story line couldnt put it down.
Looking forward to reading your second book.
Cant believe this is only your first book its an amazing first achievement well done your going to be a fantastic author actually you already are. Xx

  14. Sydney says:

I just finished book one and came searching for the second not realizing it just released a couple months ago. Of course I love romance and I read so many books but after awhile you can start to guess what’s going to happen and how the book is going to end it can get kind of cheesy sometimes but everytime I thought i had figured out what was going to happen you took the story somewhere I didn’t even think about. I loved the book and I’m so glad it came up on my suggested list. You will be an author i will follow and read every book you share with us.

    • Erica Woods says:

Thank you so much Sydney, that’s so amazing to hear! I’m glad I could surprise you, and I’m so happy you loved the book! I’m hoping to have book 2 ready in the first half of this year and I hope you’ll enjoy that as much as you did number 1!

  15. Rachel says:

Hello! Normally, I don’t reach out to authors after reading their books but yours was wow! I’m in love with this book and wanted to say you did an awesome job. I only bought this book a month ago and read it five times already! I will be waiting for the next one 😄 Sorry, just so excited about this book! You are a fantastic writer and thanks for this book, seriously. Xx

    • Erica Woods says:

oh wow, five times already? I won’t lie, that makes me really happy to hear! Thank you so much for leaving a comment, and thank you for reading my book! I’m so happy you enjoyed it <3
